Breast Cancer Awareness Hat Day - Thursday (10/17) - Pay $1 to wear any hat all day or wear a Breast Cancer Awareness or pink hat for free!

Language Arts
  • Comparing and contrasting fiction and nonfiction texts with similar themes.
  • Read for 30 minutes every night
Harrow
  • Continuing direct & indirect characterization using short stories.
  • Word study unit on root words. 
  • Identifying roots in context while reading.
  • Discussing how our stories relate to the theme of change.

  • We have begun exploring setting and how it contributes to understanding of The Bridge Home.
  • We are working on creating and asking high level text dependent questions.
  • Quarter 1 AR Goal is due 11/5/2019

  • Students will be using their knowledge of integer operations to solve related word problems.
  • They will be assessed on these skills on Friday Oct. 11th.

  • We have finished reading Who Moved My Cheese and are writing personal reflection relating the book to our lives. Reflections are being written in class and are due by the end of class tomorrow for a quiz grade!
  • We finished our first section for the Global Read Aloud and are hoping to start making connections with other classrooms around the world!

    • We did a chromatography lab in class using steps of the scientific method.
    • Study the scientific method steps.

    Social Studies
    • We finished locating the major bodies of water in the United States and have begun a web quest reviewing and further exploring what we have learned so far.
    • Students are to study/review their Water Features notes, questions, and maps tonight for homework!
